As a Scan Angel, I volunteer to be called upon to scan lost pets, predominantly cats, to help re-unite them with their owners. I volunteer to do this mainly around Kingston Upon Hull in East Yorkshire, but on occasion will travel slightly further afield. I am generally available 24 hours a day, most days.

So far, since I started as a Scan Angel, I have been scanning around 1 or 2 cats a week. A lot of cats are not microchipped, but it is always worth trying!

As a photographer, I keep a photographic record of each and every cat and kitten I am asked to scan. I intend to use this page to document my journey volunteering as a Scan Angel, and to try and raise the profile of Scan Angels in the UK.

I will also use the success stories to try and persuade people to get their pets microchipped! It really is the very best hope you have of getting them home in the event they go missing!
